This article explores how the empty keg collection process works, detailing the steps from pickup at bars and restaurants to return to Free Flow for reuse. It highlights the areas serviced in NY/NJ and key distributors involved in the collections.
What's changing?
Free Flow now collects empty wine kegs from restaurants/bars in New York & New Jersey. Distributors who sign up for this service don't have to collect or store empty kegs.
How does it work?
Free Flow handles the scheduling & collection of empty kegs. Kegs are returned directly to our warehouse & distributors receive collection reports so that they can refund keg deposits.
Are keg deposits changing?
No. Deposits will continue to be handled between distributors and their accounts. Free Flow provides BOL's to accounts and sends collection reports to the distributor.
Which distributors do you collect for?
We currently collect empty kegs for THESE distributors in NY/NJ but the service is available to all distributors in the area.
How much does it cost?
There is a small per-keg cost to the distributor (based on volume). Contact emptykegs@freeflowwines.com to learn more.
